Special People

These are the hands of a very special lady who is helping to nurse some of the VA Babies that needed rescue (and need homes too)

It is so nice to meet people that restore your faith in humanity. So many time we are overwhelmed with cruelness, ignorance, and selfishness.

She has never done rescue of domestic rabbits before, she does primarily squirrels and cottontails, and I am so delighted every time I see/speak with her to hear the excitement in her voice and how much fun she is having. Bunnies have a way of stealing your heart.

Here is "Smokey" licking his chops

Thank you so much "A" for your help. The bunny community is so very thankful.

Ready For Spring

The crocus are blooming and my daffodils are coming up - some have even bloomed. I will have to get some pics of them tomorrow.

I have been volunteering at a greenhouse and all the pretty plants are starting to come in and are being planted. Beats filling pots with soil waiting for them :)

In the meantime, I have purchased another Orchid and a Cyclamen to brighten up the inside.

I usually do pretty well with these, but the orchids are another story. I just can never get them to re-bloom. The owner of the greenhouse keeps them so maybe he can give me some tips with this one.

"Love, Love Me Do"
A little blurry but this is Steve peeking out of his "bedroom". He got this toy from Santa the has a mirror and 4 buttons that have different sayings and light up when he pushes them.

His favorite by far the one that says "I Love You" and his next favorite it the one that says "Hello". The other two are "Hello Bird" (his least favorite) and one that laughs.

He has an uncanny knack for pressing respective buttons at the appropriate time. At first we thought it was just coincidence but he has learned based on our responses which buttons to push based on the situation.

I am constantly amazed at his level of intelligence. He is such a delight and our home would be so quiet without him.

Steve-a-rino is sooooooooooooo cool.

"Sister Christian"

OMG. I have always hated this song. But I would say that 90% of the songs on my i-Pod have an event or a specific reference that I can relate them to. That is how music works for me. Anywho, I am cruising down the road today and there is a new radio station that plays everything and what comes on?????? "Sister Christian". Who do I think of - thanks to the old "What's on your i-Pod" question - but DH and Laura. So, *hangs head* the song now has a reference (and a funny memory) so I have to put it on mine too. *shaking head*

Sister Christian Oh the time has come And you know that you're the only one To say Okay Where you going What you looking for You know those boys Don't wanna play no more with you It's true You're motoring Whats your price for flight In finding Mr. Right You'll be alright tonight Babe you know you're growing up so fast And mommas worrying That you won't last to say Lets play Sister Christian There's so much in life don't you give it up Before your time is due Its true Its true................... Yeah............... Motoring What's your price for flight You got him in your sight And darling you look right Motoring Whats your price for flight In finding Mr. Right You'll be alright tonight Sister Christian Oh the time has come And you know that you're the only one To say Okay But you're motoring Yeah.................. Motoring................

Death and Taxes

At this point I would rather be shot! I have been MIA because I have been working on our taxes. Both DH and I are self employed so it is a mess. Between us we have/had three businesses and getting all that stuff ready for the accountant is unpleasant to say the least.
I have a nasty habit (that each year I promise I will never do again - yeah right) of stacking everything up and entering it into the computer when it's time to file. Really bad plan.
So for the last little while since we got back I have spent so much time in front of the computer that the sheer thought of looking at it any more - even for recreational purposes - was nauseating.
But............. I mailed them to our accountant yesterday and now I just have to sit back and wait for the bill!!!!!!!!!
